Puisque l'on est dans les archives et dans la catégorie des gravures, voici deux gravures issues du tirage original de Zinc sur Cuivre en 1993, rehaussées au crayon de couleur et à l'acrylique par François Avril :

Zinc sur cuivre : Cette Petite Boîte éditée par Alain Beaulet fut tirée à seulement 21 exemplaires. Elle était constituée de vingt et une etchings by Francois Avril printed on the presses of the Workshop Lacourière-Frélaut. Moreover, was attached to each of the twenty-one of a small box brass originals scratched. This book sold out within a few days resulted in a small limited edition book "Coffee Bar" which was added a few extra prints.

Later, in 1995, Alain Beaulet publishes the book Coffee Bar which reproduces the zinc etchings on copper, supplemented by additional burns.

ROSA 2011, the answer to Picasso

Do not shrinking from audacity, the gallery Small Paper asked two contemporary artists, Moebius François Avril and give their response to a drawing by Picasso.

In the article by Charles-Louis Detournay on ActuaBD, Mark Breyne Small paper presents the project:

"Introducing the Picasso of the period known as" Musketeers "We wanted to show that cartoonists have a nice not so far from this great painter , explains Mark Breyne . We therefore asked François Avril and Jean Giraud - Moebius to imagine a response to each of the master table. Seeing therefore side by side the original array and the two answers, we can conclude that Picasso may well have to play the game to make himself the comic! (Laughs) To go further, we wanted to show the art lover that very many talented artists are from the comics, and must pass the course of its kind to be interested in a work ".

François Avril's explanation about his work (always following the article by Charles-Louis Detournay on ActuaBD):

"I found this idea a little absurd, while he understood very well the know the answer to embed the spirit of the gallery. Like any Picasso, the work was interesting, but it did not particularly particularly upset. For cons, I have directly seen this woman who was hiding with the pubic and reversed her breasts in her eyes. This may sound strange, but then I quickly sketched this vision, then come back and tell me that I could not make it. So I wanted to conceptualize something, mixing with other works from Picasso to my little characters, but it stuck so well. So I got carried away by my first idea: a snapshot of my graphic print! "
